32. Teen Suicide - “Pavement”

This right here is a bite-sized serving of some Lo-Fi honey. It carries with it the spirit of all good Bedroom Pop, which is a commitment to the raw emotion of the moment over any sort of tendency toward perfection. It recognizes that there’s beauty in the present – in capturing a feeling while its still tangible and real rather than in the stale and contrived aftermath, and in doing so it speaks to the soul.

Everyone can relate, because everyone has experienced a moment of profound imperfection. In fact, profound imperfection could serve as the perfect definition for humanity. Our minds are often a torrent of thoughts and emotions intersecting and overlapping, creating, contradicting, strengthening, and destroying one another in the process. Somehow we have to find a way to make peace with it – both within our own minds, and then within the minds of others. It’s a constant struggle, but it starts with recognizing and respecting the autonomy of others (just so long as they do same). It’s no wonder the world has been fucked up for so long.
