61. RICEWINE - “Flood”

This jam right here is a nice little sedative of understated perfection. It makes the body want to move, but in that slow and slightly awkward way that white people seem dance whenever they’re high or inebriated. You know the type. I call it “baby dancing” – feet glued to the floor, torso and arms moving in repetitive slow motion, kind of like watching a perpetual boomerang unfold within molasses – only this time its taking place in real life, on some poorly lit hardwood floor or maybe even while sitting down, head sagging on some forgotten couch in the corner of a party. It’s a versatile dance despite its predictability, capable of adapting to any time, place, or state of mind. So sit back, listen up, and let the molasses coat your soul.
