73. TV Girl - “Heaven Is A Bedroom”
TV Girl keeps the wit but drops all of the sarcastic bravado in favor of something more vulnerable and earnest on this jam. The result is quite lovely and perfectly captures the zeitgeist of our generation – both the eternal presque vu of nostalgia and the brittle indecision surrounding love.
Its beautifully reminiscent, painted in the ethereal glow of reverie, it lives within the loosened gravity of self-reflective thought. Its an environment that’s easy to get lost within, with emotion as the only compass, the memories glimmer and dip within the imagination to conjure up all sorts of fantasies. Its the gentlest form of self-harm, like continuously massaging a bruise or picking at a scab. Its a warm hug of sorrow and its hard not to sink into its embrace.
