77. Day Wave - “Drag”
This song is like digging up the fossil of a long forgotten Chillwave jam. Not only does it bring with it that trademarked aesthetic of warm sunlight drifting through the surface of a chilled and churning swimming pool, but it also carries with it the emotion and freedom that the summers of yesteryear used to invoke.
It encompasses my second youth – the youth that comes with being treated like an adult, but not yet feeling or acting like one, and every time it plays I can’t help but feel the mist of those memories rising within my mind. It’s a joyful feeling to get lost within, so go ahead and surrender to its hazy goodness.
