91. Rostam - “Wood”
Rostam is a composer through and through. If music were transposed into a place, then he would be like a hermit hiding out in the woods, at one with nature, attuned to every part of it – each falling leave, scampering animal, creeping root, and moving molecule of water rushing within the passing stream. He listens and speaks to everything, from the big to the small, cognizant of the fact that each piece plays an equally important role in forming the tapestry of the whole and creating a cohesive and thriving ecosystem of sound.
This jam is like a beautifully painted landscape that is full of depth and detail. During its duration Rostam simultaneously becomes composer, painter, and author – a god-like entity orchestrating it all, unseen yet felt throughout. It’s art in its truest sense, story-telling that intrigues the imagination and stokes an array of emotion. The listener is transported into a different time and place – an alternate reality altogether, like a child suddenly finding themselves living within the warmth and the mystery of an unknown fairy tale. So go ahead and embrace the innocence and enjoy the journey.
