ALBUM SPOTLIGHT: spazzkid - "Promise" EP

I know I’m a little a lot late on posting about this, but somehow it got lost in my download folder, only to be recently found (which was a great feeling, something akin to finding a wadded up $20 bill in your pocket).

Anyway, spazzkid is a artist/producer out of Los Angeles who makes bedroom electro-pop. Its lush stuff, that coats bright synths in a veneer of reverbed out lo-fi. However, this time around he experiments more with his own vocals, instead of relying heavily on samples. The vocals are pushed more to the forefront and it ends up really tying everything together nicely. Kind of like a modern, less depressed and more layered brother of Casiotone For The Painfully Alone.
