This right here is a straight up smooth ass jam, and even further proof that Mick Jenkins combines vibes and content better than anyone else in the game today. He’s an artist propelled by purpose, crafting albums around themes and concepts in an effort to create a narrative that stirs both the body and the soul into action. Nothing is ever haphazard or without meaning with him. All of it is intentional. He’s always focused and honed in, using his talent to spread positivity and love in an effort to enrich others rather than just himself. He’s a man of the people – part prophet, part philosopher, and part revolutionary. He sees the big picture, and he wants to paint that picture for others. He wants to provide hope and help those around him realize that there’s a path leading out of the stagnation and towards something better. It’s a message that was much needed in 2016, and continues to be needed today. We could all learn from listening to his words.
