35. DIET. - “Your House”

Sometimes vocals alone have the ability to make you fall in love with a song. Often it only takes a split second, a brief moment of effervescent emotion and candor slipping out and injecting itself into the fabric of a song to then tear at your heart and bring it under the music’s spell. This song has that. When he yells you feel it, you feel the vulnerability, the crumbling of the cool facade to expose the raw emotion hidden underneath. You feel the heartbreak, the sheer weight of love lost, or never fully actualized, and drifting away. It’s the wounded animal, cornered and lashing out one last time before giving into the weight of existential depression. It’s real and it’s beautiful.
