50. Girlpool - “Ideal World”

The world constantly tries to force feed us this idea of impending perfection. That the ideal of perfection is not only real, but attainable, and that progress somehow exists on a quantifiable scale. That life is objective, not subjective, and that the ideal world is out there, we only have to reach for it. Yet were all so damn nostalgic. We all look on the past with an intense longing even though it defies the narrative of progress. Its a constant battle between two glimmering visions that don’t even really exist. All we have are different shades of the present, an infinite collection of moments that are always fading into the past and toward the future, while we remain firmly placed within now picking up the pieces of our ideal world.
