68. Destroyer - “Tinseltown Swimming in Blood”

Destroyer is an artist that will forever have my heart. Daniel Bejar is an artist – a poet, a human who possesses a way with words and sounds that immediately strikes my heart and draws me into its ensuing gravity. Ever since high school he’s both entranced me and inspired me to pursue art in my own piddling yet meaningful sense. His words paint pictures, broad strokes of emotion and insight that are just vague enough to meet the listener halfway and let them embrace their own meaning. It’s beautiful stuff, made even more beautiful by Bejar’s love of the saxophone (because as you should all know by now I’m a sucker for a good saxophone riff).
