HEATHERWOOD - «FYR»

Heatherwood is a band that hails from the middle of the largest country on earth,  Russia. It consists of two teenagers, Maksim and Darya. Who according to their Puerto Rican record label, Trade Winds, make music that is “a product of their loves: 80’s scandinavian aesthetics, old analogue synths, japanese toy keyboards, and each other.”

Regardless of their inspiration, Heatherwood produces some pretty chill music to narrate your life as you frolic through fields in the sun. (Which is ironic, seeing that they basically live on Hoth, but I guess young love can warm anything up, kind of like Tauntaun innards) Or if that’s not how you spend your free time, this music is perfect for when you’re relaxing and lounging around, enjoying life to the fullest with some buddies, or some comrades.

All in all, Post-Soviet Russia seems like a pretty swell place, where despite the Hoth-like conditions, Dream Pop oozes from the youth.

Their Demo Tape «FYR», can be downloaded on their bandcamp for free.

Also, here’s the video for their track “Eden”, off of «FYR», which sort of gives you a glimpse into their music and their lives.
