54. Vince Staples - “745″

The bass on this track is next level. It’s like a classical cartoon meets Seinfeld which then meets G-funk while on an acid trip in the club. It’s hard and yet somehow whimsical. It’s a difficult vibe to explain, but one thing is for certain – it’s infectious. You can’t help but get a little smirk upon your face and move your body in ungodly ways while listening to it.

The whole album is like this, combining the oil of Vince’s delivery with the gritty and slightly dirty textures of tracks that would almost seem more at home in the underground clubs of Europe. It’s like the illegitimate child of Hip-Hop and Electronic Dance Music, born from a late night tryst in some dirty and poorly lit German bathroom. It carries the characteristics of each, dominant and recessive traits that mix and co-mingle to surprisingly strengthen one another in the process. It’s a fun spectacle to witness.
